Video Embeddding Tutorial

Read the instructions below in order to learn how to embed a video from the popular platform YouTube.

  1. First type YouTube into the browser you are using; this should take you to the YouTube site.


  2. On YouTube, search for the video you would like to embed.


  3. Once you find the desired video click on it.


  4. Once the video opens up, scroll down to the share button, which is located next to the like and dislike icons. Press the share button.


  5. A box should pop up with a link and the option to share the video to several other media platforms. Choose the option embed.


  6. A line of code should appear with the iframe tag. There will also be a box that allows you to select the timestamp at which the embedded video will start. You can adjust this timestamp to your liking if you choose.


  7. Press the copy button to copy the line of code.


  8. Navigate to the location where you would like to embed your selected video. In this example, an HTML document is displayed. You would paste the line of code from YouTube into the HTML document at your desired location.


  9. The final result is an embedded video like the one currently embedded on this web page.
